Escalator Outdoor Arts

Escalator Outdoor Arts is a talent and artist development programme in the East of England supported by Arts Council England.
The wider Escalator project covers many different art forms, here at Norfolk & Norwich Festival we are very proud to manage the Outdoor Arts strand of the program.

Outdoor Arts is something that we are very passionate about as is our ambition to support and nurture artists across the region from all different art forms.

Outdoor Arts are presented in outdoor and public spaces, often this means large numbers of viewing audience, but we are also interested in nurturing smaller and more intimate forms of outdoor arts.
It can be site responsive, sometimes ticketed but most often are presented as free events to the public.
The actual art can take many forms, from visual arts to puppetry, from digital work to performance arts, from circus to contemporary dance to street theatre, carnival and all things in between.

2012 was an extraordinary year for Outdoor Arts, represented widely in the London 2012 Festival and subsequent Cultural Olympiad events all over the UK.

Watch this space for more imminent updates about opportunities to gain support from Escalator Outdoor Arts and its partners.
