Creative Partnerships
Improved learning through enhanced creativity
Creative Partnerships has been delivered by the Norfolk & Norwich Festival for the past 18months. Projects have been centred on schools in Great Yarmouth.
Creative Partnerships (CP) is the government’s flagship creative learning programme, developing young people’s skills, raising their aspirations and equipping them for future life. The programme introduces creative teaching and learning across England. CP works with teachers to identify specific social and learning challenges within the school. A tailor-made project then tackles these, triggering positive change in individual pupils, and ultimately in the whole school and community beyond.
CP practitioners, ranging from scientists and stilt-walkers to actors and screen writers, work with teachers on innovative projects that support their curriculum teaching. To mention but a few, projects have included building a huge labyrinth; learning to write a play in 100 words using Mandarin words to link with schools in Shanghai; exploring community and the individual through digital storytelling and film script writing.
Over the next few months the activity of Creative Partnerships is expanding and we are looking to recruit new schools throughout Norfolk. For more information or a copy of our newsletter please call Julia Donat, Creative Education Manager, on 01603 877759 or email Julia@nnfestival.org.uk
