A theatrical collage of escape and exile.

A roaming wooden box searches for a place to land after a long journey through unknown lands.

Masked characters emerge to tell tales of their escape and arrival, dreams and fears, and how they’ve started their lives anew. Exile is the name of their destination. Asylum is their hope. For this mask theatre piece, TheatreFragile met with local refugees and support workers to gather their stories and experiences. They bring these unheard voices to the centre of an interactive performance that poetically presents the complex issues of exile.

Performance runs: c. 1 hr 30 mins (1 hr performance + 30 mins installation)
