Mary English

KinAesthetic Theatre Co.

Saturday 28 May
2.30pm

A trunk is found in a dusty old attic. A trunk that contains secrets, and carries tales of adventure and revolution from across the globe. A trunk that will be unlocked for the first time in over 100 years. Inside we find stories from the New World, of battles lost and won, tall ships, trade routes, and a young girl left behind.

Mary English was a 19th century adventurer and business woman, whose letters form part of the National Archive and whose portrait hangs alongside other revolutionaries in the National Portrait Gallery. KinAesthetic Theatre Co. have worked with Taverham Junior School to develop a show that will incorporate puppetry, visual theatre and an original sound score to imaginatively recount the rare story of an unsung hero.

This work in progress performance will be followed by a post-show discussion and feedback session, providing an exciting opportunity for you to inform the final development of the show.

Ages 5 – 11

Performance runs: c. 40 mins (no interval)
