Ours Was The Fen Country

Still House

Created by Dan Canham

Dan Canham has been capturing conversations with people of the fens in East Anglia, from eel catchers and farmers to molly dancers and conservationists. Movement and sound are fused with words to reach the heart of this beautiful, bleak expanse of flat land.

Having worked with DV8, Kneehigh Theatre and Punchdrunk; this piece launches Canham’s new company Still House.

Performance runs: c.60 minutes (no interval)

Commissioned by Bristol Old Vic Ferment, New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich and DanceXchange

Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Research and development supported by Arts Council England, Pulse Festival at the New Wolsey Theatre, BETA at Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Bristol Old Vic Ferment, Dartington Arts and Norfolk Dance. East Anglia rural touring produced in collaboration with New Wolsey Theatre.

“Dan Canham raises ghosts in spine-tingling dance-theatre… exquisitely crafted, thoughtful theatre.” Lyn Gardner, The Guardian on 30 Cecil Street
