Fabulous Beast and Liam Ó Maonlaí

Thursday 24 & Friday 25 May, 8pm

Fabulous Beast comes to the Festival following sell-out runs at the Barbican and London Coliseum.

With three Olivier Award nominations under his belt, choreographer and founding director of Fabulous Beast Michael Keegan-Dolan has established a reputation for his dynamic and innovative approach to dance theatre. Here he collaborates with one of Ireland’s most successful folk rock musicians, Liam Ó Maonlaí of Hothouse Flowers, drawing inspiration from Ó Maonlaí’s 2005 solo album Rian, which means ‘mark’ or ‘trace’ in Irish.

A delightfully innovative fusion of two very different disciplines, Irish traditional music and Irish contemporary dance theatre, Rian has dazzled audiences in Dublin and London and has also been nominated for the Judges’ Special Award in The Irish Times Theatre awards 2011.

Co-produced by Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre and Sadler’s Wells, London
.Supported by Culture Ireland.
