Safe House

Saturday 24 May

This site-specific performance by the award-winning Metro-Boulot-Dodo creates an emotionally engaging spectacle during the closing weekend of the Festival.

A mysterious house has appeared. A figure emerges onto the roof and begins to share the house’s story. You will be taken on a surreal and poetic journey as rooms, memories and characters are revealed: from the perfect couple moving into their ideal home, to a child who imagines her surroundings as an enchanted castle, a teenager desperate to escape and an old woman who can’t leave.

Aerialists scale the walls and pound the streets as the house dramatically transforms into a variety of stunning visual backdrops, exploring the emotional space that lies between house and home.

A breathtaking finale also provides a spectacular close to the last Saturday of the Festival.

Performance runs: 40 mins

Please note capacity is strictly limited to 5,000 people, please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
