Wheelchair users

Level access into the Cathedral is available through the Hostry Visitor & Education Centre which is open 0930 - 1630 Monday - Saturday. Outside those hours and on Sundays there is level access through the South Door and a ramp and lift give access via the West Door. At all times there is wheelchair access to the Refectory Restaurant and Coffee Shop, Gift Shop and Library. We have a small number of wheelchairs available for free loan to visitors for use within the Cathedral and Close. Please contact the Vergers (01603 218325) in advance of your visit.

Ely Cathedral

Ely Cathedral welcomes disabled visitors. Wheelchairs are available for use in the Cathedral. There is a toilet suitable for disabled visitors in the Processional Way. A loop system operates in the Choir and both the north and south Transepts. A leaflet designed to help visitors with disabilities to make the most of their visit, is available from the Information Desks.

Gloucester Cathedral

Wheelchair lifts are located in the North Transept and South Ambulatory. Please ask for the key and instructions at the Cathedral Shop. There is a toilet suitable for disabled visitors.

Ripon Cathedral

The Cathedral is fully accessible, with the exception of the crypt and the library. Wheelchairs are available for the use of visitors.
