Norfolk Open Studios 16 – 31 May 2009

Norfolk Open Studios is delivered by Norfolk & Norwich Festival in partnership with Norfolk artists for the benefit of Norfolk artists, offering to help and support them in opening up their studios, meeting their public and selling works of art.

Now in its fifteenth year, Norfolk Open Studios has established itself as one of the largest and most successful open studio schemes in the country. Norfolk Open Studios provides the opportunity for artists across the county to show and sell their work to a curious and enthusiastic audience, primarily in their own studios, thereby maintaining and broadening the audience for local visual arts work. It also creates a focus for local artists and audiences to meet, spark interest and nurture enthusiasm for their work.

During Norfolk Open Studios 2008, over 26,000 members of the public roamed the county to visit 254 participating artists in their studios and a total of £224,000 worth of art was sold.

In 2009, Norfolk Open Studios runs from Saturday 16 – Sunday 31 May and there are over 250 venues participating, with individual artists as well as gallery/collectives of artists. Use the menu bar or 'Search' function at the top of this page to search comprehensive listings and images of all participating NOS 2009 artists. You can search by region or by artist surname.

And new to 2009, a special 'Events' section, listing all the events artists are putting on during the NOS scheme dates, in addition to their open studio. Why not watch an artist demonstration or have a glass of wine at a private view, sample a slice of cake at an afternoon event or even try out an art technique yourself!

If you would like a taste of what you can expect during NOS 09 then click on the 'Taster Exhibitions' link in the menu above to take a look at the Taster Exhibitions that have been organised in each region. The Central Taster Exhibition in Norwich at the Forum from 28 April-3 May is a showcase of work by over 100 NOS 09 artists from across the county.
